Your Story Matters
This year, as you forge ahead, don’t neglect your gifts, refuse to be like the servant that buried his one talent.
We are beginning to drive away the culture of celebrating our small wins and achievements because we have placed a standard in our lives based on the success stories of others, forgetting that we are all in different playgrounds, we have different skills and abilities, and above all, we are operating under different levels of grace and mercy.
I know you are super shocked to hear from me after a long break, it’s been over a year and some months now. I have missed you, and I miss writing, too. I would love to hear what you have been up to in the comment section, but we need to dive into the topic.
As you journey into the new year, if there’s one thing you should hold onto, it should be that ‘Your story matters’. For some people, it might take failing at different times, and making bad choices before you can reach your Jerusalem.
I have some stories to share that might help you see things differently, stay with me.
Jesus didn’t start ministry until he was 30 - Luke 3:23 NIV
Joseph was 30 when he became the prime minister of Egypt - Genesis 41:46 (NIV)
David was 30 when he became King - 2 Samuel 5:4 (NIV)
Esther had to complete a 12 months of beauty treatment before she met with the king - Esther 2:12 (NIV)
Abraham was 100 years old when his son Isaac was born - Genesis 21:5 (NIV)
One thing particular to everyone mentioned is that they all went through different life events before they went into the fulfillment of God’s plan for them. Some of the things they went through shaped them and prepared them into what’s to come. For them to become, they had to undergo several life experiences.
While Jesus, Joseph, and David stepped into the fulfillment of God’s plan for them at the same age, it did not mean that they went through the same process. David ran from Saul for years after he was ordained as a king. Joseph was sold, imprisoned, and neglected before he became the prime minister, but you know what, he never stopped doing - using his gifts, even in the prison.
This year, as you forge ahead, don’t neglect your gifts, refuse to be like the servant that buried his one talent. Carry your small gift like it’s the best thing that the world has seen. Share your story, the small wins, the testimony that looks basic to the world. In your little way, tell everyone about Christ. They will call you names, it’s not new, and they will get used to it with time.
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9 (NIV)
We have been chosen for a time like this in our generation and our story counts, our story will heal, it will bring peace, it will bring breakthroughs, redirection and most of all redirect the heart of men back to Christ, our Father, my Father.
Till I come your way soon, keep growing and keep shining your light. Matthew 5:16 (NIV)
I'm grateful I stumbled on the mail that brought me here, good stuff.
